17th Annual Conference: Progress, Power and Prevention
The CPIC breast cancer conference, attended annually by over 200 breast cancer patients and medical professionals, helps survivors to make informed decisions about their health.

The conference addresses the constellation of concerns that accompany a cancer diagnosis. Topics for the 2018 conference:
  • Choosing Resilience As a Response
  • Coping with Side Effects
  • Exercise
  • Genetics
  • Metastatic Cancer
  • Nutrition
  • Personal story
  • Racial/Ethnic Disparities in Breast Cancer Risk and Outcomes: Highlights of Current Research
  • Screening & Treatment Updates
  • Sexuality, Sexual Function, Dating, Family Planning
  • Talking with Your Medical Team
  • Treatment of DCIS
  • What's Going to Happen to My Health Insurance?
CPIC is not a treatment facility. We're an independent research organization. Although we work closely with treatment centers, CPIC does not have doctors or nurses on staff. This means we’re free to select the top oncology specialists locally and nationally to present from across leading health systems.

Presidio of San Francisco

Coming to terms with a cancer diagnosis is difficult. The conference location, surrounded by nature with striking views of the Golden Gate Bridge, provides a welcoming space to hear difficult information and invite conversation. As one attendee noted in her program evaluation, “The location is so inspiring, it restores my soul.”

A special thank you to our 2018 in-kind service provider:
