Members of SF Ballet, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, ODC/Dance and others partner with Cancer Prevention Institute of California to Get In Front of Cancer
FREMONT, CA (March 14, 2012) – In an unprecedented gathering of dance talent, performers from prominent Bay Area dance companies will join together this summer for a one-night only, once-in-a-lifetime performance to benefit the Cancer Prevention Institute of California (CPIC). Located in Fremont, CPIC is the nation’s premier organization dedicated to preventing cancer and to reducing its burden where it cannot yet be prevented.
Garen Scribner and James Sofranko, soloists with the San Francisco Ballet, are partnering with CPIC to Get In Front of Cancer by organizing some of the finest Bay Area dancers for this unique performance. All proceeds will directly benefit CPIC’s cancer prevention research and other programs.
Scheduled for Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 7pm at the classic Herbst Theatre in San Francisco, this performance will include some of the best of what the Bay Area dance community has to offer, including performances by principal dancers from San Francisco Ballet, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, ODC/Dance, AXIS Dance Company, Smuin Ballet, Zhukov Dance Theater, Robert Moses' Kin, and Margaret Jenkins Dance Company. The evening will showcase ballet and contemporary works from some of the world’s most renowned choreographers.

In addition to the live performance, there will be an after-performance celebration with a silent auction. Tickets for the performance and the celebration may be purchased separately. Performers are subject to change.
