CPIC Grants and Awards

The Cancer Prevention Institute of California (CPIC) is the only freestanding institution committed solely to preventing cancer, and is a world leader in its work to achieve that goal. In Fiscal Year 2012, CPIC research scientists applied for and received grants and awards totaling approximately $15.5 million for cancer prevention research.

The research and prevention efforts made possible by these public and private grants enable CPIC’s research scientists — the largest concentration of scientists in the nation working exclusively on cancer prevention — to advance the collective body of knowledge needed to understand what causes cancer so it can be stopped before it starts.
