This multi-center study of over 10,000 breast cancer cases and over 10,000 controls will systematically search the whole genome to discover novel genetic susceptibility factors for breast cancer in women of African ancestry, with a particular focus on estrogen receptor negative breast cancer which is more common in women of African descent. The study will include DNA samples and data from participants in the Northern California Breast Cancer Family Registry and the San Francisco Bay Area Breast Cancer Study.
