Welcome to the Cancer Prevention Institute of California

As California's leading independent, population-based pertains to the entire population in a particular area research organization, the Cancer Prevention Institute of California (CPIC) is dedicated to its mission of preventing cancer and reducing its burden where it cannot yet be prevented.

The Cancer Prevention Institute of California partners with hundreds of scientists, academic institutions and community agencies in the U.S. and around the world, working to advance the understanding of numerous cancers, including breast, cervicalCancer in the cervix, prostate, ovarianCancer in the ovaries, colorectal cancerCancer that develops in the colon and/or the rectum, lymphomaCancer that begins in cells of the immune system. Two basic categories of lymphoma are Hodgkin lymphoma & Non-Hodgkin lymphomas and more.

CPIC enjoys a reputation as a nationally recognized leader in epidemiological Epidemiology: The study of the patterns, causes, and control of disease in groups of people studies of cancer and is partnered with the Stanford Cancer Institute, a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center, in creating a comprehensive cancer research and community outreach enterprise in Northern California. CPIC scientists also hold faculty appointments at Stanford University's School of Medicine.
